From 26 to 29 May 2020, the Deutscher Bibliothekartag (German Librarians’ Day) will take place at the Hannover Congress Centrum (HCC) under the motto Vorwärts nach weit (roughly translated “Forward to Far”).
Our motto picks up a syllable play by Kurt Schwitters, who from the statement “But if you read Hannover from behind, you get a compilation of three words: re von nah (German)”, concluded that Hanover strives for the immeasurable, just “forward to far”.
Fits to us, to the BIbliotheken and to those, which are active with and in them. If we strive together not only in Hanover to the immeasurable, we strive ‘forward to far’.
In Lower Saxony, we last visited Göttingen with the 85th German Librarians’ Day; we are now looking forward to numerous participants and a varied programme in the state capital of Hanover.
